The finance industry in Guernsey was given a boost recently when the island was voted International Finance Centre of the Year at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) private client awards.
The presentation was made by the actor Brian Blessed, guest speaker at the awards, to Peter Niven, chief executive of GuernseyFinance.
’Guernsey is well aware of the potential impact the global situation could have,’ Mr Niven said. ’But the island is a great place to do business and this award is a welcome tribute to those working here and reassurance for anyone thinking of relocating to the island.’
