A world leading financial district and relaxed offshore possibilities: Executive Search British Isles  -  What's stopping you?

The financial services sectors in these areas present great opportunities for those with experience within finance jobs and also legal jobs, particularly within areas such as private banking. The City of London is the world's leading centre for global finance (rivalled only be New York, the two cities are tied for the top spot) and so if you work within the global financial sector it is advisable that you explore the opportunities presented by this historic yet modern district. London has great transport connections with the rest of the world, and the thriving international business network combined with the culture and fast paced lifestyle makes it an exciting place to work.

Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man present different opportunities from London as they are offshore locations. Those in the financial sector can take advantage of the favourable tax rates - for example most companies pay 0% corporate tax in Guernsey - and financial and legal services such as banking, insurance and fund management thrive in these small communities.

The island life here means that commutes are generally shorter than in large business districts and team sizes can be smaller and more intimate, allowing team members to make a great impact quickly and play a key role in operations.

Visas:

Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man maintain their own border controls. For employment in the Isle of Man you might require a permit so seek advice first. You need a "right to work" permit to be able to enter the local housing market in Guernsey, which can be complicated. Without this paperwork you cannot be employed and housing costs are very high. For further information, please visit http://www.gov.gg/ccm/navigation/housing/right-to-work/. Jersey is slightly less expensive but complicated restrictions also apply. Visit http://www.gov.je/WORKING/WORKPERMITS/Pages/default.aspx

For the UK, EEA and Swiss residents have the right to live and work provided you can support yourself or have obtained permission, although Bulgarian and Romanian nationals always need permission to work. For others, the UK operates a skilled worker and high-value migrant system, and if you obtain sponsorship from an employer you will be granted a visa.
