Bermuda

Bermuda is an archipelago located some 650 miles off the coast of the USA. Bermuda is not, contrary to popular belief, part of the Caribbean. It is very well-connected with easy access to and from Europe, the USA and Canada. Flying time from the US east coast is less than two hours. Bermuda is a politically stable and sophisticated island. It has first-class communications facilities, a very well educated work force and access to all the legal, accounting and other professional support services that clients would expect of a leader in offshore business. Bermuda is a beautiful island with an ideal semi-tropical climate and excellent recreational facilities including golf, tennis, swimming and a wide range of water sports.

Although a beautiful holiday destination, business in Bermuda is booming, with over 11,000 companies registered there. As such, there are many opportunities for qualified offshore financial and legal professionals. Salaries are comparatively high, with an income tax level of approximately five per cent. The quality of the work is excellent, and long hours are the exception rather than the rule. The cost of living is high but the work/life balance offsets this.
