Mourant Ozannes has been recognised as the leading law firm in the Channel Islands by Chambers Europe 2010, a respected research publication for the legal industry.

Published online in May, with the print version due for release this month, Chambers Europe ranks law firms for their performance over the past year based on feedback from clients and peers.

Mourant Ozannes is the only law firm in the Channel Islands to be ranked in the top tier for its Corporate & Finance, Investment Funds, Dispute Resolution and Employment work in both Jersey and Guernsey.

Mourant Ozannes is ranked in the top tier in eight of 11 categories, twice that of any other firm.

Chambers Europe also recommends 38 Mourant Ozannes lawyers in Jersey and Guernsey, more than any other law firm.

Jonathan Rigby, Managing Partner of Mourant Ozannes, commented: "We are delighted to be rated so highly by clients and peers in one of the industry's leading research publications. This clearly shows that Mourant Ozannes has unrivalled strength-in-depth in the Channel Islands."

On 1 June 2010 Mourant du Feu & Jeune and Ozannes, two of the leading law firms offshore, merged to create Mourant Ozannes. Mourant Ozannes draws on the heritage of two market leaders and has approximately 200 fee-earners and 50 partners practising from offices in the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Jersey and London.

Robert Shepherd, Guernsey Managing Partner of Mourant Ozannes, said: "It is particularly pleasing to receive this recognition so soon after the completion of the merger."
