Our client, a reputable MEP contractor is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join its Cyprus operations. This critical role will spearhead commercial growth strategy by identifying, developing, and securing new MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contract opportunities across Cyprus. The successful candidate will be instrumental in expanding the project pipeline, building strategic client relationships, and positioning the company as the leading MEP contractor in the Cypriot market. Reporting directly to the CEO this role demands an entrepreneurial mindset, deep understanding of the construction industry, and proven ability to convert opportunities into signed contracts.

The role focuses on business development and sales leadership within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contracting sector in Cyprus, specifically targeting various sectors such as hospitality, commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial. Responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new contract opportunities to meet annual revenue targets, while managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders like property developers, contractors, architects, and government officials to position the company as a preferred MEP partner.

A key part of the role is conducting market intelligence to monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects. This helps in formulating strategies for market penetration and growth. The individual will also be responsible for tender and bid management, collaborating with technical teams for accurate cost estimations, and delivering compelling presentations to clients. Additionally, the role involves identifying and cultivating partnerships with international contractors, local firms, equipment suppliers, and financial institutions to strengthen competitive positioning.

Contract negotiation is another critical area, ensuring alignment between client expectations and company capabilities while maintaining profitable margins. The individual will also be responsible for pipeline management, keeping an accurate CRM database, tracking projects from prospects to contract awards, and providing sales forecasts to headquarters. Furthermore, the role includes representing company at industry events and networking forums to enhance the company's visibility and market reputation.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields, with a preference for Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. They should have at least 7-10 years of business development experience in the construction industry, including 5 years in MEP contracting. The role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems, construction contract types, and project estimation, as well as proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Cyprus’s construction market, public sector tendering procedures, international standards, and sustainable construction practices is also essential. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with large-scale projects and a network within the construction and real estate sectors in Cyprus.

The candidate may be based anywhere in Cyprus with willingness to travel frequently throughout the country for client meetings, site visits, and networking opportunities. The role requires flexibility to attend evening networking events, weekend site visits, and participation in virtual meetings with the headquarters across time zones. Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while maintaining company's commitment to quality, integrity, and safety standards. The position offers competitive remuneration including base salary and a performancebased commission structure.
