A are opportunity to head up a well-established onshore trust business at a leading UK fiduciary firm with an established blue-chip client base. The role will involve UK travel and the location of the role is therefore flexible and can include hybrid working. Responsibilities include the management of the firm's trust team, split between locations in the UK. Managing clients and liaising with beneficiaries, advisers, and trustees. Supervising interactions with HMRC including the timely preparation of trust accounts, tax returns, with the calculation of liabilities for IHT, Capital Gains and Income Tax. Reviewing investments and monitoring performance is also required.
The successful candidate will have a professional accountancy or legal qualification together with STEP. A minimum of ten years' experience in trust is required and a good part of this must be within UK onshore trust, and must include experience managing a team. An excellent understanding of systems is required as the firm wishes to review its current systems with a view to updating or replacing them. Interpersonal skills will be needed both internally and for interaction with clients and advisers, strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of numeracy are essential. Compensation will be competitive.
