A large family office holding company is looking to hire a chief audit executive to be responsible for the auditing of the holding companies in Qatar.
Main responsibilities are to prepare an audit plan and develop an annual risk-based internal audit plan which is to be approved by an audit committee. You will identify high-risk areas across all the holding group's functions and subsidiaries. Lead audits covering operational, financial, compliance, and IT functions and assess effectiveness of internal controls, SOPs, and risk mitigation measures. Perform investigations of suspected fraud, misconduct, or irregularities. Governance and compliance projects to ensure adherence to Qatar laws, IFRS, internal policies, and industry best practices. Provide recommendations to improve governance and risk frameworks and report present audit findings and recommendations directly to the audit committee. Monitor the management and implementation of corrective actions. This senior level role also requires the responsibilities of oversee and mentor audit staff to build a high-performing Internal Audit function. Introduce audit tools, checklists, and data analytics for efficiency.
To be eligible for this role you will need to have attained a bachelor or masters degree in accounting, finance or business administration. Professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA are preferred. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of internal audit experience, preferably gained in a diversified holdings group. Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and control frameworks. The role also requires someone who is strategic thinker with analytical abilities. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Be a team player with the ability to work with senior executives and main Board.
