A highly successful Qatar Family Holding Company is looking for a head of contract that will lead, negotiate and manage procurement related contracts for a diverse group of companies and its subsidiaries. This unique role is to ensure contractual compliance, minimize risk, and support commercial viability and project efficiency through best in class contracting practices while being aligned with procurement and organisational goals.
Draft, review and manage contracts including supplier agreement and service contracts. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all procurement contracts and lead commercial negotiations with vendors, suppliers and service providers.
Additionally, evaluate commercial risks and will suggest mitigation strategies, track performance, compliance, and renewals of all procurement contracts. The role will be to maintain an updated contract data base and coordinate with legal department on dispute resolutions, variations and claims. Review contract terms during RFP’s and tendering stages and standardise contract templates and develop contracting tools. There will be the opportunity to provide training to procurement teams and practices.
This role will also establish and enforce effective contract life-cycle management, minimise legal and financial risk procurement and secure cost-effective and favourable contract terms. You will further ensure legal, policy and compliance adherence and will optimise vendor relationships through contractual governance.
The ideal applicant must have bachelors or masters degree in either business administration, law, supply chain or a similar related field. At least 7 years of experience in contract administration and procurement. Contract/Legal certifications are an advantage. Experience in holding companies or multi sector environments. Strong knowledge of Qatari procurement and commercial laws and be proficient in ERP systems and document control tools. Fluent in English, Arabic is a strong advantage but not a must.
