An international banking institution is looking to add a technically strong Financial Accountant to its tight-knit 'Group' level team to add expertise across statutory reporting, implementation of new IFRS standards, and the year end consolidation process using SAP. The business has a footprint in several continents around the world and provides first-rate services to private individuals and a wide variety of third-parties.
The successful candidate will work across a wide variety of group accounting tasks including month/quarter/year end reporting, the preparation of the annual report, and will also involve a large amount of project work regarding any new reporting standards with colleagues from across the business. It is thought that this individual will become the subject matter expert on any updated IFRS and thus will have a significant contribution towards the business' group reporting manual. This person will be the deputy to the head of the division and they will have a full overview on all accounting and reporting across the group.
It is thought that the successful candidate will have a strong academic background (minimum bachelor's degree in economics/mathematics/statistics or similar subject) with several years of experience within a large international business (ideally financial services). This role would also be a great first step out of a Big4 firm, or from an individual from a financially focused audit background. Candidates must speak fluent German and English, possess strong IFRS knowledge, and any exposure to SAP/Avaloq would be highly advantageous.
