A fast growing and highly entrepreneurial Fintech business is looking to hire a Legal Counsel to ensure the smooth overall running of the business and the continued commercial success. The business is well funded and has a unique and compelling business proposition, and has a wide and varied client base with plentiful scope to grow and develop further. The business has a strong 'start-up' culture, and has ambitious yet attainable growth targets in the coming years.

The successful applicant will work very closely with the Chief Operating Officer and be the subject matter expert for any legal matters that arise. This is very much an all round and 'hands on position' and is viewed as a key hire for the projected growth of the business. The two pivotal elements to focus on for this position is Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Law as the business prides itself of the development of innovative and highly commercially valuable technology that has uses across multiple sectors.

To be considered for this position you will have strong knowledge of all elements of English Corporate Law and IP, and have extensive experience within a relevant and high growth environment. You will hold all relevant academic and professional qualifications, and have excellent people-management and communication skills. Experience within Fintech/Software development is highly desirable but not a pre-requisite, and the position will mostly be based on-site in York.
