An international Group of Private Schools is looking to hire a senior tax manager to lead and manage tax operations for its regional entities in Mexico. The successful candidate will oversee international tax compliance, reporting, planning, and risk management across the region, ensuring adherence to local and international tax laws. The successful applicant will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to optimise tax strategies, manage risks, and support corporate tax reporting.
Responsibilities will be tax compliance & reporting; tax planning & strategy; tax risk & audits; cross-functional collaboration across the Mexico, central America, and Caribbean and external relationships.
To be eligible for this role our client requires relevant professional qualifications with a CPA certification with preference of at least 5+ years experience in the tax industry or public accounting, with a strong understanding of tax compliance and planning. International experience working in a multi-national organisation and handling international tax matters would be a distinct advantage. You will also have proven experience leading SAT audits, managing tax litigation, and responding to SAT requests and invitations. Extensive experience working with tax-exempt income entities and experience handling cross-border transactions. Strong understanding of how to calculate the non-creditable VAT factor.
