Our client is a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company that helps clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth. On their behalf we are looking for an account director to be based in their operation in Guernsey
The role will require responsibility for a portfolio of captive and commercial insurance companies. You will be the team leader to a number of relationship and account managers offering technical and underwriting support.The incumbent will report directly to the head of Guernsey.
Good experience in underwriting will be required. Liaising with insurers, brokers, re-insurers, loss adjusters in relation to these underwritten accounts. A working understanding of the regulatory requirements and a good relationship with the regulator will be necessary.
Client liaison is important to maintain and develop existing and new relationships. To this end some out of office meetings and some travel off-island may be required.The ability to market and present to prospective clients will be an important part of the role.
Applicants will be expected to hold a CII qualification and at least 5 years experience in a senior role. A knowledge of the Guernsey and/or UK regulatory environment will be expected. Wider international insurance experience will be advantageous
