For a large and well established family holding group in Qatar we are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the Disbursements Controller and Credit Controller teams, ensuring the efficient and accurate management of disbursements, credit control, and end-to-end accounting processes. This role has significant ownership of the Revenue & Receivables cycle and the Costs & Payables cycle, with a strong focus on rental income, property-related expenses, and repair, maintenance, and refurbishment projects. The Chief Accountant will also support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

This position ensures full compliance with company policies and procedures, IFRS, Delegation of Authority, State of Qatar tax regulations, and other applicable regulatory and governance requirements. The role provides business unit management with timely, accurate, and relevant financial information, ensures proper month-end closing and reporting, and acts as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors.

The Chief Accountant plays a critical role in strengthening internal controls, supporting new technology implementations, assessing financial and operational risks, and recommending and implementing mitigating controls. The role also supports consolidation and tax teams and actively monitors team performance, recommending training and development programs to enhance capability and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include overseeing credit control activities, assessing customer creditworthiness, managing receivables, and implementing strategies to improve cash flow and minimize bad debts.
